About Us
Unifying surgeons & academicians of Shalakyatantra across India
Our History
Founded in 2004, The Association of Shalaki (TAS India) stands as the premier organization uniting Ayurvedic ophthalmologists across India. Our journey began with a simple yet profound vision: to create a unified platform for all Shalakis (Ayurvedic eye specialists) to collaborate, share knowledge, and advance the field of Shalakyatantra.
The seeds of TAS India were planted during the National Conference on Shalakyatantra Update 2002, held at Tilak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Pune. Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Dilip Puranik and his dedicated team, prominent practitioners of Shalakyatantra came together to establish an organization that would represent their collective interests. This vision materialized on November 2, 2004, when The Association of Shalaki was officially registered under the Society Registration Act 1860 (Registration No. MAH/1752/2004/Pune).
